It is as well THE information centre re. alternative and healthy living: you find programmes for body, mind and soul in the shop window racks, posters with events in the doorway, magazines... and a small noticeboard in the back ("wanted" etc). Meeting place of the "alternative scene". Founded 1970, since 1976 as a worker's co-operative. A bright yellow house, just behind the new Parkside Pool.

Daily Bread is a Christian co-operative in the north of Cambridge. A huge place, you can choose to buy most products in small to 5 KG units: the bigger, the cheaper. Fresh bread, vegies and fruit (no frozen food). This place is definitely the cheapest of all, but the choice is limited. Big variety of nuts, dry fruit, flakes and everything which lasts longer. Included is a One World Shop with some ethnic products, candles, letter paper, presents etc. and some tables where you can drink tea or coffee with cake.
You find the place opposite the 6th Form College in the bend of Kings Hedges, next to the big radio mast.
