Fri/Sat/Sun 12-14 Oct: "Eat, Dance & Pray Together" - 13th Dances of Universal Peace Autmn Weekend London with Ralph & Vitalija

Dances of Universal Peace
  with Ralph & Vitalija Vitalija and Ralph will come all the way from West Yorkshire to share joyful and ecstatic as well as slow meditative dances, with breaks to relax and digest. "If you can talk, you can sing. If you can walk, you can dance" (African saying). Beginners are warmly welcome - no experience of singing or dancing required.
It is possible to come for one day or part of the weekend, but we recommended to stay over night for all the weekend, which will allow you to enjoy the dances & the weekend much deeper.

Please feel free to explore the surroundings of the farm in the Chess Valley, meet the horses, sit near the Chess stream - or relax in the grass watching the clouds....

Thu 18 Oct: talk by Adam Yuet Chau on ‘Five ways of doing Daoism', 7.30 p.m.

The Cambridge Inter-Faith Group (www.cam.net.uk/home/interfaith) invites you cordially to this A 40-minute talk followed by questions and discussion. Dr Chau is University Lecturer in the Anthropology of Modern China, Department of East Asian Studies, University of Cambridge. He is the author of ‘Miraculous Response: Doing Popular Religion in Contemporary China’ and editor of ‘Religion in Contemporary China: Revitalization and Innovation.’ He is working on coming up with better ways to conceptualise Chinese religious culture.
Time: 7:30pm, doors open at 7.00.

Sun 18 Nov: combined Celebration of Community, theme: "Faith and wealth" & Inter-Faith Fair, 2-5pm

The Cambridge inter-Faith group (www.cam.net.uk/home/interfaith/) invites you cordially to attend this combined event:
Sunday afternoon, 18 November, the first day of the national Inter Faith Week.
We are accepting bookings for stalls and speakers; we envisage having about eleven speakers, of whom the first will be the Mayor of Cambridge. Each speaker is invited to have five minutes to give a flavour of his or her view of 'Faith and Wealth' with the freedom to interpret the theme as you see fit in the light of your faith.
Stallholders will be asked to pay £5 towards room hire and other expenses.

Tue 17 Sept 2013: talk on Zen Buddhism, 7.00 p.m.

The talk will take a verse attributed to the first patriarch of Zen, the Indian monk Bodhidharma, as its starting point to look at the teachings of the Zen School and its basis in Buddhist practice: ‘A special transmission outside the teachings; Not dependent on words and phrases; Directly pointing to the human heart; Seeing into its nature and awakening.’This verse is said to contain the essence of the Zen School. Martin Goodson was appointed a senior teacher of the London Zen Group by Ven. Myokyo-ni and teaches at The Buddhist Society and the Zen Centre’s temple in North London. He has been a practising Buddhist for 26 years and a Zen teacher for 14 years. He also runs The Zen Gateway – an online community for Chan/Zen Buddhism.
