Fri 15th Oct. '04: begin Ramadan

If you are not a Muslim, you could consider that some of your neighbours or work collegues are neither eating nor drinking during daylight from today for 4 weeks - this often makes people more sensitive (and sometimes headachy & irritable).

Apart from this, fasting is a way to get closer to God / Spirit and soul - it helps you raising above bodily needs and adictions and is a very powerful experience. Once I observed the Ramadan fasting and I clearly felt closer to spirit and more sensitive. This year I decided to fast again - you are welcome to join. Ramadan lasts 30 days.
If you are interested: my friend Michael wrote a diary about his 1st Ramadan fasting experience - see

4) GLOBAL and National Ongoing Events     top of page - end of page

Meditation on the United Nations each Friday

You and your network are invited to join in the following weekly meditation -- toward the purpose of manifesting the soul of the United Nations in its mission to liberate humanity ( Held each Friday by a group network around the world )

We come together in group intent -- raising our attention as high in the head as possible. From this high point of attention we visualize energy -- in the form of light -- pouring through our being -- through the worldlwide group meditating with us -- through the United Nations Headquarters building -- coming to rest in brilliant radiance in the General Assembly Hall -- and permeating the minds of the full plenary of national delegates.

We hold this vision for five minutes -- followed by the chant: Let -- Light -- Descend -- on -- Earth

The Silent Minute - Prayer for Peace

This prayer was inspired at the time of the revival of the Big Ben Silent Minute, through its trustees. It belongs to the universe. It belongs to you. Therefore we invite you to use it as often and wherever you can. Please feel free to use it in your newspaeprs, magazines, letterheadings etc; at the beginning of your meetings....All we ask is that you give recognition to

Driving Peace Meditation

While driving, I did a meditation/prayer for Peace:
Every red light I came to, I prayed for "stop" the war in Yugoslavia.
As the light changed to green, I prayed for "Go now to Peace."
How wonderful it would be if everyone driving on errands--getting stuck in traffic, could mentally say: Go Peace. Stop War, Conflict. Go Love.
Peace. From Margaret of Pennsylvania.
