The Focus of Wolf Song IX: Personal Responsibility.

We all work towards establishing Peace and Harmony upon our world. The Peace Elders will share their wisdom and the stories from their own Nations. This will help us to get a clearer vision of what the future is about; to share, so we can help those less fortunate than ourselves, the sick, the starving and Mother Earth. Together we can eradicate disease, fear, poverty, war and pollution from our planet so that all people can live together in Peace, Harmony and Understanding through the power of Prayer, Love and Friendship. The energy that we create by meeting will generate more strength and purpose for each one of us.

We will laugh, sing, dance, tell jokes and celebrate the coming together of all cultures of the world, working towards World Peace. As at all previous Wolf Songs our resolve will be strengthened in the knowledge that others are also working towards World Peace and we will come away with a feeling of Peace, ready to share with our families, friends and communities.

Rainbow Sanctuary Association

The concept behind the R.S.A. is to help the people, regardless of social, economic or religious background. It was recognized at the outset that many "everyday" people did not have access to mainstream professional services. So it was the aim of the original volunteers to create a Self-Help group consisting of like minded people. Their aim, as it continues to be, is to simply help those less fortunate in society, those who need to let off steam, those who need to talk to people about their life, without being judged, to be able to just walk in somewhere and feel that there is a place that feels pressure-free and comfortable enough for them to let go of what is really hurting them. In this way their Quality of life improves.

It was decided that the R.S.A. would be established as an independent voluntary group with no-one drawing a wage. Obviously this is the way many such organisations begin. But it is a basic belief of the volunteers that this way will ensure the continuation of the Association.
Community spirit, once so strong has deteriorated and in many places altogether lost. By bringing people together and helping each other we have already seen many changes and once again a sense of a growing community spirit. We now have Self-Help groups, run by volunteers, Nationally and Internationally working alongside many other voluntary organizations.

Adopting a Peace Elder.

There are those Peace Elders who are not in a position to be able to pay for their airfare and transport. They live their lives in service to Mother Earth and to mankind. We want them to be at Wolf Song IX and are trying to find ways to get sponsors for them. If you are a group, foundation, family, church or an individual and you would like to help to sponsor a Peace Elder, your help will be gratefully accepted. You maybe able to do fundraising, a fair or raffle tickets. Be creative about it and anything is possible. It is important for Mother Earth and for all of us to get the Peace Elders together. Please ask for our "Adopting a Peace Elder" form.

"More than a single event we consider Wolf Song to be consciousness raising on a global scale. For the first time in this century the prospects for World Peace are a tangible reality not an idealistic hope"

Wolf Song IX in Holland.

Wednesday 26th of august untill Saturday 29th of august 1998. The Saturday will be an open day for the public. The location is the Paasheuvel, Vierhouten, 80km east of Amsterdam. This land for Wolfsong is old, with beautiful, big trees. The facilities have been built by unemployed people in the 1920's and 30's. The land has never been used for commercial purposes, only for holiday camps for underprivileged children and other worthwhile causes. It also is a meeting-place at Remembrance Days to pray for Peace, Friendship and Unity.
The accommodation for the Peace Elders are comfortable, wooden bungalows and old traditional houses. There is also accommodation available for particiipants. We feel we have been led to this land and feel this is the best place for Wolf Song IX. Everybody will be together on the same land and share each other's tables.

Vision of Twylah Nitsch.

Grandmother Twylah Nitsch. The Vision of Wolf Song came from Grandmother Twylah Nitsch, Seneca, Founder, President and Elder of the Wolf Clan Teaching Lodge and the Seneca Indian Historical Society. The Seneca Nation, as a member of the Iroquois Confederacy of United Tribes, has worked for peaceful cooperation among nations for hundred of years.

In fact the constitution of the United states was modeled after and adopted from the Iroquois Confederacy. The Iroquois have always held councils for Peace. Grandmother Twylah conceived Wolf Song as a council in which Indigenous Elders would share their teachings with people from all over the world. It has always been her hope that, by deepening the understanding among diverse cultures through cultural exchange and education, we would promote Peace and Unity while at the same time preserving the sacred knowledge of how to live on the land with respect for it and for each other and how to heal ourselves and each other with the plants, flowers, trees and seeds that have been provided for us by Mother Earth.

Grandmother Twylah held the first Wolf Song in May of 1991, at the Wolf Clan Teaching Lodge on the Cattaraugus Seneca Reservation. Subsequent Wolf Songs have involved thousands of people and been held in Australia, Switzerland, Texas, Puerto Rico, New York and Florida.

During the first Council Grandmother Twylah named 38 Elders as "Peace Elders". One of those named was Mary Elizabeth Thunder, a Sundancer and teacher. Grandma also asked Thunder to host Wolf Song II and VI. Thunder represented Grandma Twylah at Wolf Song III and V and attended the United Nations Indigenous Peoples working session in 1994, at which she presented the secretary general of the United Nations with more than 20 video tapes and the Peacestatements of all of the Elders who spoke at Wolf Song I and II.

Wolf Song IX Peace Message

Bob and Carol Clark
As we come into the new millennium I pray, that all people of the world, whatever their race, colour, creed, or tribe will try to understand the others belief or culture, that we may all work together for Peace within our world.

With everyones united effort we can eradicate poverty and disease within our world, for violence destroys, it does not create. In war there are no winners, only losers. We must all realize more respect is needed for the environment and Mother Earth, and to know that we are all one.

To achieve this.........people must unite in a common purpose, forget self and ego, work together in Love, Peace and Understanding, let go of materialism, and work for the whole of Gods Creation. Remember there is only one God and we have different ways of recognition, no one way is right, we are all right.

We must learn to listen to one-another and to communicate and to learn to think for ourselves, content to be in service for the whole.
Bob and Carol Clark 10 Jan. 1998

- - - rainbow line - - -

Bob and Carol were made Peace Elders in 1992.
Together they have always put their lives in service of Gods work, to help people to think for themselves and improve the quality of their lives and all life around them.
At the 1996 Wolf Song VI The Rainbow Sanctuary Association invited all the Peace Elders to join then in the 1998 Wolf Song in Europe.
